DEIA Travel Awards

ACCP DEIA (Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Access) Travel Awards

ACCP is committed to decreasing barriers to clinical pharmacy career paths and creating an inclusive culture for all. ACCP DEIA Travel Awards aim to reduce barriers for underrepresented individuals to become more involved in the College and advance their careers in clinical pharmacy.

What does the DEIA Travel Award Cover?

The ACCP DEIA Travel Award will cover the cost of registration to attend the ACCP Annual Meeting and provide a $1000 travel stipend toward the cost of transportation and lodging for the meeting. In addition, awardees will be paired with a mentor for early career advancement.

Who is eligible?

The ACCP DEIA Travel Award is intended to provide support to early career individuals from underrepresented dimensions of identity, including but not limited to racial and ethnic backgrounds, gender identities, and/or sexual orientations; with disabilities; and/or persons otherwise adversely affected by persistent poverty, discrimination, or inequality. Individuals may belong to more than one underrepresented group and face intersecting barriers.

Candidates must be current members of ACCP who identify as an individual from an underrepresented dimension of diversity and are enrolled in a residency or fellowship/full-time graduate studies program or in their first 6 years of practice after completion of education and training.

How to apply?

Complete applications include:

  • Applicant curriculum vitae
  • One (1) letter of recommendation from a clinical pharmacy practitioner, faculty member, or residency/fellowship program director [applicants will request the letter from within the application portal; letter writers will upload the letter directly to the portal]
  • One (1) personal essay of no more than 750 words describing:
    • The applicant’s interest in ACCP and objectives for attending the national meeting, and
    • Why DEIA in the field of clinical pharmacy is important to them.

Evaluation Process and Award Notifications

Applications will be evaluated by a committee of the ACCP DEIA Task Force. Award notifications will be made by August 31.
