This session will highlight four common cardiovascular disease states that occur within the peri/postpartum population, including hypertension, heart failure/cardiomyopathies, arrhythmias including stroke prevention, and thromboembolism. The four presenters will discuss patient presentation and evidence-based treatment options for each disease state in this unique patient population, as well as the role/impact of a clinical pharmacist on the cardio-obstetric team. The presentation will end with a brief Q&A panel with the presenters.

1. Evaluate for associated risk factors of common CVD states in peripartum/postpartum patients.
2. Create a therapeutic plan based on evidence-based treatment options incorporating peripartum and postpartum considerations.
3. Determine considerations on safe contraception planning for women as it pertains to specific CV disease state.
4. Describe the pharmacists’ role in managing CVD in the peripartum/postpartum population.
