Prerequisite Module: Research Primer

Saturday, November 11, 2023 from 1:45 PM to 5:45 PM CST at Lone Star Ballroom A2

Available for 4.00 hours of CPE credit
Activity Number: 0217-0000-22-221-L04-P
Activity Type: An Application-Based Activity

All Annual Meeting registrants are welcome to attend this session.

This introductory module is designed to introduce participants to basic concepts in clinical investigation, including how to get started in identifying research topics, pre-project considerations, developing a researchable question, and applying PICO/FINER criteria to refine a research idea into a researchable question. Faculty researchers conducting clinical, observational, educational, health services, and implementation science studies will provide overviews of their respective research areas, and pathways to their success.  Participants will have the opportunity to engage with faculty in small groups to discuss their research topics and apply the PICO/FINER criteria to refine their ideas into researchable questions. Participants are encouraged to bring at least one research idea, or a sample of a research question with a research hypothesis or specific aims from a planned project, project under development, or current project.

Please note: If attendees are enrolled or plan to enroll in the Research and Scholarship Academy, this session counts toward Academy credit. In order to receive Research and Scholarship Academy credit, Academy enrollees must sign in during the session. This module is expected to be completed before subsequent programming.
