Chronic kidney disease (CKD) is a common disorder with significant impacts on morbidity and mortality. In the past 20 years, little advancement has been made in targeted therapies for this patient population. However, recent advancements in drug therapies have the ability to significantly impact clinical outcomes and create a new standard of care in the management of CKD. This session will incorporate lectures with active learning exercises and interactive patient case discussions to review prior standards of care for CKD, discuss new therapies and their impact on clinical outcomes, and facilitate development of an integrated approach to evidence-based management of patients with CKD.
