Emergency Medicine PRN Focus Session — Status Traumaticus: Updates in Evidenced-Based Care in Trauma

This session focuses on updates in trauma management and will address specific topics of updated guidance on antibiotic treatment for open fractures, including longbone, and skull fractures as well as trauma coagulopathy management. Coagulopathy management updates in trauma will include the application and interpretation of thrombelastography, the use and dosing of prothrombin complex concentrate in this setting, and the role of tranexamic acid in traumatic intracranial hemorrhage. The target audience for this session is emergency medicine practitioners, as well as practitioners in other acute settings such as the intensive care unit, and students/residents interested in emergency medicine.
