PSAP Live: Updates in Endocrinology

Monday, November 13, 2023 from 1:45 PM to 3:15 PM CST at Lone Star Ballroom B

Available for 1.50 hours of CPE credit
Activity Number: 0217-0000-23-201-L01-P
Activity Type: An Application-Based Activity

This 90-minute live session will provide updates to PSAP 2023 Book 1 (Endocrinology and Nephrology). A moderator will lead three presenters through the program, subtitled "Overcoming Barriers and Obstacles to Optimal Care in Patients Living with Diabetes"

Guidelines for patients living with diabetes continue to evolve at an accelerated pace.  The expansion of pharmacotherapeutic options and technologies in treating both diabetes and its associated complications has advanced management significantly. This surplus of ever-changing information can challenge clinical decision-making.  This session will provide the BCPS-credentialed pharmacist with a critical, comprehensive, and robust update on the hot topics within diabetes management, including  an overview on the  treatment guidelines, with a focus on new therapeutic options for hyperglycemia management and diabetes technology within both the outpatient and inpatient settings, the optimal management of diabetes complications based upon recently published evidence and data, and the importance of considering structural vulnerabilities and the social determinants of health in treatment planning to ensure equitable treatment for all.

PSAP Live offers 1.50 hours of BCPS recertification credit. In order to earn recertification credit, participants must complete and pass the associated posttest by the submission deadline. The posttests will be available on December 12, 2023. The deadline to submit posttests and earn recertification credit for the session is December 12, 2024. If you have not already purchased posttest access and wish to add it to your registration, email [email protected] or visit the registration desk on or before November 14, 2023.
