This session addresses the prevention and management of infectious diseases commonly acquired through travel with special consideration for how prevention and management in transplant recipients differ from the general population. We will discuss workflow strategies to ensure that patients who choose to travel are able to obtain a supply of transplant medications and manage maintenance infusions in the setting of travel. Learners have the opportunity to engage with presenters through polling and assessment questions, discussion, and application exercises.

1. Describe the presentation and management of endemic fungal infections in the solid organ transplant patient.
2. Recognize drug-drug interactions of antifungal medications and antirejection medications.
3. Outline a travel advisory plan for the solid organ transplant patient.
4. Identify necessary antimicrobial prophylaxis and preventative measures necessary for a traveling solid organ transplant patient.
5. Discuss how to plan for and obtain vacation supplies for immunosuppression.
6. Describe strategies to manage maintenance infusions in the setting of travel.
