Hemstreet, Kiles, and Brooks Present at NPhA Annual Convention

President-Elect Brian Hemstreet presented together with ACCP and National Pharmaceutical Association (NPhA) member Tyler Marie Kiles, ACCP staff member Amie Brooks, and NPhA New Practitioner Network co-chairs Starr Shands and Kirstyn Hill at the NPhA annual convention in New Orleans, Louisiana, July 28–31. Their presentation, “Navigating Career Paths and Transitions,” was a fast-paced, interactive session focused on effective self-assessment, strategic use of digital profiles and networking, PGY1 residency equivalency, and continuing professional development. This program was the first deliverable from an ongoing collaboration between ACCP and NPhA. Among the goals of this collaboration are to create a culture of inclusion within clinical pharmacy by decreasing barriers and increasing access to clinical pharmacy career paths. Bringing this content to students and new practitioners within NPhA is a step toward that goal and will hopefully be the first of many successful collaborative endeavors. To further these goals, Frank North, current president of NPhA, will participate in an ACCP Annual Meeting session titled “Incorporating Inclusive Practices into Postgraduate Recruitment.” North will moderate the panel presentation by Jacinda Abdul-Mutakabbir, Tyler Marie Kiles, and Sally Arif, which will take place on Saturday, November 11.
