Kolesar Receives University Research Professorship Award

Former ACCP President Jill M. Kolesar, Pharm.D., M.S., FCCP, BCPS, recently received a University Research Professorship Award from the University of Kentucky (UK). Established by the UK Board of Trustees in 1976 to recognize outstanding research achievements, the University Research Professors Program recognizes excellence across the full spectrum of research, scholarship, and creative endeavors.

Most colleges within the university can nominate one University Research Professor per year; colleges with more than 275 tenure-track faculty (currently Arts and Sciences and Medicine) can nominate two per year. Kolesar is one of only 14 university faculty to receive this honor in 2021. She is among a very select group from the UK College of Pharmacy ever to receive this recognition. Faculty members can only be recognized once and may use the title “University Research Professor” for as long as they remain on the UK faculty. The honor includes a $10,000 award for 1 year, to be used to further the awardee’s research, scholarship, and creative endeavors.
