ACCP Student Travel Awards

ACCP offers travel stipends to help defray the costs students incur when attending the ACCP national meeting. Student Travel Awards are administered through the ACCP Foundation and funded by the Student Travel Award Fund.

ACCP student members in good standing who are full-time students pursuing their first professional pharmacy degree at an accredited college or school of pharmacy are invited to apply.

A personal essay of up to 500 words describing the applicant’s interest in ACCP and objectives for attending the national meeting
Two letters of recommendation from a clinical pharmacy practitioner or faculty member

Application Requirements	Provide in one email the following documents: 1) Curriculum Vitae: Specific items to include if applicable: --ACCP involvement (i.e. ACCP committees (including StuNet), PRN membership, attendance at meetings, attendance at PRN meetings, participation in the ACCP clinical pharmacy challenge, research poster presentation, including all School/College level ACCP involvement) Other professional organization involvement/leadership including School/College group/committee/board. --Participation in other professional competitions --Publications, poster presentations, and other scholarly projects (DUE, QI) --Community service/volunteer work 2) Letter of support from a current faculty member at the applicant’s school, mentor, or preceptor. Description	The Cardiology PRN will award two travel grants of $750 each to support the costs associated with the ACCP Annual Meeting in October 2024. One grant will be dedicated to a full-time student pharmacist with an interest in cardiology and is currently enrolled in a Doctor of Pharmacy program.

Eligibility	Candidates must be current members of ACCP and the Cardiology PRN who are full-time pharmacy students pursuing their Doctor of Pharmacy degree
Application Requirements	Each applicant may submit only one application in consideration for this award. Applications must include: Applicant’s current curriculum vitae Two letters of reference , and One-page letter of intent (LOI): In the LOI state your interest in cardiology (and/or the Cardiology PRN), reasons for attending the ACCP Annual Meeting, and describe any abstracts (research, cases, systematic reviews, research in progress, etc.) you will submit to present at the 2024 ACCP Annual Meeting. If the awardee has an abstract accepted, in addition to presenting at the poster session(s), the awardee will have the opportunity to present at the ACCP Cardiology PRN annual business meeting. Letters of recommendation should be submitted directly from the reference writer to Kristin Watson, Pharm D, MS, BCCP All application materials should be submitted via email to Dr. Kristin Watson. A selection committee organized by the current chair of the Cardiology PRN’s Student and Trainee Committee, Dr. Jenna Cox, will select award recipients based on a pre-determined scoring system. Those awarded a Student or ACCP travel award will not be eligible for a Cardiology PRN award. Award recipients will be responsible for the initial cost of meeting expenses and reimbursed following the completion of the ACCP Annual Meeting.

Description	The Central Nervous System (CNS) PRN will be offering up to two Trainee Travel Awards to attend the 2024 ACCP Annual Meeting.

Description	Travel award for one pharmacy student to present their research in the area of clinical administration at the ACCP Annual Meeting. Recipients are expected to attend the Clinical Administration PRN Business Meeting and give a presentation (5-10 minutes) on their project. Recipients are also expected to actively participate on a Clinical Administration PRN committee the following year.

Application Requirements	Applications should be submitted to the Chair of the Nominations Committee and should include the following 3 items: (1) abstract of the project using ACCP guidelines; (2) brief statement (250-word max) highlighting the applicant's interest in clinical pharmacy practice (include your name, graduation year, and school or college of pharmacy); and (3) current curriculum vitae (CV). Description	The Critical Care PRN will award travel grants to partially support the costs of travel and attendance of up to 2 students at the ACCP Annual meeting.

Eligibility	To be eligible to apply for the student travel award the candidate must: Be a current student member of the Critical Care PRN Be a current full-time pharmacy student pursuing a professional pharmacy degree at an accredited school of pharmacy Have completed, or demonstrated significant progress in, a critical care related research project under the direction of a critical care PRN member Have an abstract accepted for presentation at the annual ACCP meeting. For applicants who have graduated from an accredited school of pharmacy within the past 6 months, the research being presented must have been a project completed prior to their date of graduation. Applications from those completing graduate degrees other than a Doctorate of Pharmacy, or those who have obtained a Doctorate of Pharmacy degree now enrolled in alternative or additional graduate degree programs will not be considered.

Description	The Emergency Medicine Practice and Research Network (EMED PRN) of the American College of Clinical Pharmacy (ACCP) will award THREE (3) travel awards per year for students and/or residents to partially support the costs of travel and attendance at the ACCP Annual Meeting.

Application Requirements	Abstract submissions should follow the requirements for submission to the ACCP annual meeting. Each applicant may only submit one research abstract for consideration for either the Student or Resident Award. Students or Residents/Fellows that have received an ACCP Travel Award or another PRN Travel Award for the ACCP Annual meeting will have to decline the award of their choosing so that only one award is received. In the event that the EMED PRN travel award is declined, the runner-up will be awarded. The recipients of the travel awards will be required to present their research project as a 10-minute platform presentation at the EMED PRN business meeting during the Annual Meeting.

Description	The Endocrine and Metabolism (E/M) PRN Trainee Travel Grant is intended to provide financial support for one or more students, residents, and/or fellows attending the ACCP Annual Meeting. Each recipient of the travel grant is required to give a brief (10-minute) presentation at the E/M PRN Business & Networking meeting. The presentation can be an endocrine or metabolism clinical pearl, a description of a completed or ongoing research project, or a journal article review. Each recipient of the travel grant will be assigned a mentor (who is a member of the E/M PRN) who will provide guidance with the preparation of this presentation.

Please note ACCP policy prevents awarding a second Travel Grant to a past recipient of the E/M PRN Travel Grant.

Description	The GI/Liver/Nutrition PRN would like to encourage students, residents, fellows, and new practitioners with an interest and relevant involvement in the field of gastroenterology, hepatology, or nutrition to apply for a travel grant that would help support attendance at the ACCP annual meeting. Examples of eligible projects include, but are not limited to: drug utilization reviews (DUE), quality improvement (QI) projects, and traditional research.

The applicants must be either a student, resident, fellow, or new practitioner. If selected, the applicant is required to give a brief presentation of their student, resident, or fellow project at the annual ACCP GI/L/N PRN business meeting. Research is NOT required to be an accepted poster presented at the annual meeting for this award. A total of two (2) awards will be granted from the following categories: Student Resident, fellow, or new practitioner (presenting residency/fellowship project from previous year) New practitioner (defined as up to 5 years post Pharm.D.) The GI/L/N PRN reserves the right to adjust distribution of awards according to the number of applications received. In the event no applications are received for one of the award categories, award monies may be distributed to the remaining qualified applicant(s) or as deemed necessary by the GI/L/N PRN executive committee.

Application Requirements	Applications must contain the following components: 1) A current CV, including your involvement and participation in ACCP and/or the Health Outcomes PRN. Examples include: years and participation in ACCP, previous attendance at ACCP or other health outcomes research-related meetings, past research involvement (posters, projects, manuscripts). 2) A one-page letter of intent stating your interest in health outcomes research and expected outcomes from attending the ACCP Annual Meeting. Please also describe ongoing or recently completed research that could be presented at the Health Outcomes PRN Business Meeting. 3) A one-page reference letter from your research mentor or advisor stating the applicant's involvement and interest in health outcomes research.

Description	The Hematology/Oncology (H/O) PRN will be awarding one travel grant of $1000 to support the costs associated with attending the 2024 ACCP Annual Meeting in Phoenix, AZ in October. This grant will be dedicated to a full-time student pharmacist in good academic standing with an interest in hematology/oncology. The awardee must present findings of a hematology oncology-related project at the Hematology/Oncology PRN Business Meeting in the form of a platform presentation and submit an abstract to present a poster of research findings at the Annual Meeting.

Eligibility	1. Current student in good academic standing enrolled full-time in an ACPE-accredited pharmacy school. 2. Current ACCP member. 3. Current Hematology/Oncology PRN member or willing to become a member if selected. 4. Agrees to attend ACCP’s Annual Meeting and participate in the program activities. 5. Desire to present a research poster at the Annual Meeting and a 10 minutes podium presentation of research findings at the H/O PRN business meeting. Research or project topic must be related to hematology/oncology and initiated during pharmacy school.
Application Requirements	Applicants may only submit one application to be considered for the award. Applicants must have submitted an abstract for consideration to present at the 2024 ACCP Annual Meeting. Irrespective of being selected to present the abstract findings, applicants must agree to present a maximum 10-minute platform presentation at the PRN’s Business and Networking Forum at the ACCP Annual Meeting. Please submit an updated curriculum vitae (including name, graduation year, college of pharmacy), one letter of reference, a one-page letter of intent (LOI), and a copy of the submitted abstract. The letter of reference should be provided by either a clinical pharmacy practitioner or faculty member and should be submitted directly to the chair of the Membership and Operations Committee (Ariel Denson) by the writer. The LOI should be a maximum of 500 words and express your interest in hematology/oncology, demonstrate service/dedication and professional development or strong interest in professional development and/or research, reason(s) for attending the ACCP Annual Meeting, and describe abstract(s) submitted or planning to submit to present at the ACCP Annual Meeting. Submitting an abstract according to the ACCP Annual Meeting deadlines is required. However, an accepted abstract is not a requirement to receive the award. Description	This award acknowledges up to four outstanding pharmacy students, pharmacy residents, and/or fellows who have shown excellence in ID through clinical practice, research and/or publications, ID pharmacy education and ID PRN service. In addition, a distinguished trainee should maintain high standards of professionalism and serve as a role model for other trainees.

This research must be an accepted abstract at the ACCP Annual Meeting as either completed research or research-in-progress. -To be considered for the student award, research must have been conducted while a PharmD student -To be considered for the resident/fellow award, research must have been conducted while a post-PharmD resident or fellow -Not be the recipient of a previous Infectious Diseases PRN travel award -Able to attend the ID PRN Business and Networking Meeting at the ACCP Annual Meeting to present research -Current members of the ACCP ID PRN Executive and Awards Committees are not eligible for the Distinguished Trainee Award.

Description	The Pulmonary PRN offers a travel award to one (1) PRN student or resident members who has an interest in pulmonary pharmacy, meets eligibility requirements, and is selected by the Workforce & Strategic Committee. The award supports registration expenses for one student or resident member of the Pulmonary PRN.

Eligibility	Applicants must be members of ACCP and the ACCP Pulmonary PRN as well as attend the Pulmonary PRN business and networking meeting at the Annual Meeting. The applicant will be expected to present a poster or other brief presentation on a pulmonary topic at the Pulmonary PRN business and networking meeting. Please indicate, if applicable, the title of your poster or proposed presentation to be presented at the ACCP Annual Meeting. Previous award recipients are ineligible.

Description	The ACCP Transplant PRN will be offering travel awards to help support up to FOUR Transplant PRN members with travel expenses (ie. lodging, airfare, meeting registration) for the 2024 ACCP Annual Meeting in Phoenix, AZ Oct 12- Oct 15. New this year, we are offering a "bundle package" which will allow for the student/resident/fellow as the primary applicant and an associated preceptor on the project to both receive $750 towards travel expenses. We will offer ONE "bundle package" and TWO individual awards. If no bundle package is submitted, then funding would be provided for up to four individual recipients. While the application deadline is before the notification of abstract acceptance for the annual meeting, winners of the travel grant will not be awarded until after abstract acceptance is confirmed. Please do not be deterred from applying for the travel grant because you don't know if your abstract will be accepted!

Eligibility	Applicants must be a current member of the ACCP Transplant PRN, be an author on a research abstract accepted to the Transplant specialty section for the ACCP annual meeting, not have received this award in the previous 3 years, present his/her/their research at the Transplant PRN Business Meeting and Networking Forum during the ACCP Annual Meeting
Application Requirements	The award recipient(s) will be selected according to the quality of the abstract as defined by the scoring system found in the application materials. Each abstract will be scored on 3 areas: content, quality, and significance. Each assessment will receive a score ranging from 0-1 (maximum score =12). The abstract with the highest average point total will receive the travel award with preference given to students, residents, fellows, and new practitioners (completed training within the last 5 years). The abstract must receive a minimum average score of 50% to be considered for award selection. In the absence of high-quality abstracts, the travel awards may not be given every year.

Description	The Women’s Health PRN offers travel awards to PRN members who have an interest in women’s health, meet eligibility requirements, and are selected by the Award’s Committee. The $500 award is to provide partial support for registration and/or travel-related expenses (flight, hotel, food) for one student and one resident/fellow member of the Women's Health PRN.
