Take Advantage of Early Registration Rates for the 2021 ACCP Spring Forum

Registration for the 2021 ACCP Spring Forum is now open at www.accp.com/sf. Secure your spot on or before April 5 to take advantage of early registration rates. This virtual meeting, to be held April 26–30, will offer a variety of professional development opportunities.

Preparatory Review and Recertification Courses

ACCP’s preparatory review and recertification courses are designed for pharmacy professionals preparing for the Pharmacotherapy or Critical Care Pharmacy specialty certification examinations administered by the Board of Pharmacy Specialties (BPS), as well as for specialists seeking recertification through continuing education and those seeking a self-paced refresher course in pharmacotherapeutic management of specialty-specific conditions and contemporary clinical practice topics. Each course provides a comprehensive, case-based review of the knowledge domains covered in the corresponding BPS specialty examination. The 2021 Pharmacotherapy course will provide up to 25.25 contact hours of continuing pharmacy education (CPE) credit and BCPS recertification credit. The Critical Care Pharmacy course will provide up to 21.0 contact hours of CPE credit and BCCCP recertification credit. Each course will include on-demand sessions on Monday and Friday, April 26 and April 30, in addition to live sessions on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, April 27–29, providing an opportunity for participants to connect with faculty for a live question-and-answer session after each lecture.

Fundamentals of Biostatistics and Clinical Trial Design Workshop

In addition to the Pharmacotherapy and Critical Care Pharmacy courses, the 2021 Spring Forum will offer the College’s popular Fundamentals of Biostatistics and Clinical Trial Design workshop. Developed for pharmacy professionals preparing for one of the BPS specialty certification examinations, the 2021 workshop will be offered live on Monday, April 26, and will include an in-depth, hands-on, interactive session focused on core concepts related to biostatistics and clinical trial design. The workshop will provide up to 5.0 contact hours of CPE credit and is also part of a BPS-approved professional development program for four specialties: Ambulatory Care Pharmacy, Critical Care Pharmacy, Pediatric Pharmacy, and Pharmacotherapy.

ACCP Academy Programming

The ACCP Academy offers a flexible, curricular approach to enhancing participants’ skills and experience through one of three professional development programs: Leadership and Management, Research and Scholarship, or Teaching and Learning. Through interactive sessions, participants in Academy programs learn actionable concepts and skills that are immediately applicable to their professional pursuits. Individuals who complete the 1-year Academy curriculum receive a certificate of completion and additional recognition as ACCP Academy graduates. Half of the live program requirements will be offered at the 2021 ACCP Spring Forum, making this an excellent opportunity to earn credit toward a certificate of completion.

Clinical Practice Forum

The Clinical Practice Forum is designed for individuals who are interested in implementing or optimizing CMM in their practice. This 3-day series of practice advancement virtual programming focuses on developing and enhancing clinical pharmacy services to deliver CMM, incorporating CMM into experiential teaching, and honing precepting skills. The 2021 virtual program will include both plenary sessions and interactive, hands-on workshops presented and facilitated by experts in the field. Attendees will apply new knowledge in real time, leaving with action plans for CMM implementation, optimization, or educational integration.

Participants will be among the first to be introduced to an interactive CMM implementation platform. Attendees will discover key elements of a successful business case and tools for developing business plans to implement and/or scale CMM services. Experts will share strategies for transitioning a disease-focused service to CMM, for effectively collaborating with pharmacists in other specialties and settings, and for incorporating quality, productivity, and patient access into the design and evaluation of a CMM service. Attendees will learn about successful integration of CMM into experiential education and postgraduate training. The 2021 virtual Clinical Practice Forum will offer participants an invaluable opportunity to gain knowledge and practical tools applicable to any practice.
